Boystuff.co.uk has not sent the goods I paid for and ignore my e-mails!

I ordered a 50th birthday present for a friend of 10 paintballing sessions on June 10th from http://www.boysstuff.co.uk/ £23.90 was taken from my credit card. I emailed them on June 24th to ask where the gift was and received a reply the next day'.
Dear Customer

This order was dispatched to you on 14 June 2010.

We will enquire of our fulfilment partner if they are able to track it for you.

Since then I have heard nothing, my e-mails of the 1st & 12th July have not been replied to. They do not supply a telephone number. Where do I go from here? :(

As its under £100 I would write to them sent recorded giving 10 days allowing for postage to either give you your money back, send the goods or take them to small claims court it costs but as you may have prove you should win

I cant get details on whois for some reason but might do later

For payments under £100 you can still issue a charge back. Just the bank dont have joint liability.

Contact your bank if you arent getting anywhere with the retailer and explain the situation. How helpful they're willing to be depends.

One of my banks even helped out once on a debit card transaction which they didnt have to do :)

But a charge back is basically where they reverse a charge (payment) made by you if there are reasonable grounds to do so.

I have written to them, but just found this in their ironically called Don't get angry get sorted section.

Lost or damaged parcels must be reported in writting within 7 days of placing the order. We cannot offer any compensation of lost parcels not reported within this period. http://www.boysstuff.co.uk/secure.asp#getsorted

They can't even spell writing & whatever happened to allow up to 28 for delivery? :(

This isn't a comment on unholy's personal circs, but it's worth bearing in mind that Visa debit cards have additional protection, despite being debit not credit cards.

  • Thanks everyone, they finally replied to my letter after two weeks, by email, denying they received e-mails 2 & 3 from me. They then posted out the vouchers with no explanation, letter of apology or anything. I received them on August 11th, posted on August 10th. They were intended for a birthday present in June. I don't really want them now, would have preferred my money back, but at least they finally responded. I won't use them again.
