New network

Next week I am changing my Broadband provider from BT to SKY (saving lots my doing so). Anyway I have 2 laptops and a printer that I want on the network, is there an easy way to do this? BT installed the last lot including a Sling box (but I don't need that now).

If the laptops and printer are already "talking" can I just change the router or do I have to start from scratch?

You can just change the router, although you may encounter slight issues depending on how your current architecture is configured.

If all the devices currently rely on getting an IP address assigned using DHCP, then it's a straight swap.
However if any devices have been given static IP addresses, then you could encounter problems if the new router is not configured to account for this (very easy to fix though).
Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.
