Looking for a decent HDD DVD Recorder

Options
I have a Hard Disk Drive DVD Recorder ive had for years (Paid £400-500 so many years ago)
Its a Panasonic DMR-EH60D

Over the past few months, have had a little trouble burning to dvd - might have been the certain dvds anyway
But im looking for another now, As the one in my bedroom is just recording from its built in freeview, sometimes depending on where the ariel is i lose some signal

I want one downstairs to connect to my TV/SKY Box, for when i get bad signal in my room

Any ideas what to go for? Another panasonic, they seem good but expensive, but good speeds for recording to dvd, or go for a cheaper one?

Looking for a 250GB Hard drive ideally or more
Any Suggestions?

Had a look round comet earlier, had some for £160 for 320GB hard drive (never heard of the make) and some up to £300-400 too - sony/panasonic/samsung

How long have you been with Sky? If you are out of your contract period you could look into the upgrade cost to Sky+, it would probably be cheaper than the cost of a decent recorder unit.

You could then run coax to your other room and use one of the EyeTV remote extenders and have the box on your second TV also.

That said, you would only be able to watch the same thing on both tellies if thats an issue?

Its a Sky HD box downstairs, sorry should have mentioned it.
    Would that still work?
I mainly back up a lot of videos onto dvd, to do videos for my website

If you use the Sky+ facility then you would have to burn to a separate DVD recorder if you still wanted DVDs. This would be very slow as you can only do it in real time.
