Creda T622CW Condenser tumble dryer fault

The 'empty water' light will not go out despite the water being empty. As a result the dryer will not heat up.
Does anyone know how to fix.... I'd be grateful as its tipping it down outside!

Were this my tumble drier, I'd pull it apart and look for something that seems to be a switch or sensor that detects how much water there is in the tank. I'd then disconnect the switch and see if that made the water light go out. If it didnt and it were a two wire affair, I'd short the wires together and see if that made the light go out..

Your feelings on the matter may differ depending on your feelings towards screwdrivers and electricity. I'd find it doubtful that a switch that went near a water tank would be a 240v fed switch

A common problem with this model.

Open the door and just below the drum you will see a notice that reads "Condenser Unit, clean condenser and seals......" The condenser is directly below this. Pull it towards you and clean it with toothbrush and/or toothpick or similar. Make sure you pull all the wet fluff towards you rather than pushing it into the condenser. Finally shake the condenser over a sink to reove all water then replace.

Sure it's not pump failure? My Bosch had the same fault and which I assumed to be the sensor, but it turned out that the 'empty water' warning light comes on when the lower tank is full. Since it couldn't pump up to the top tank, the light was permanently on even though the top tank was empty.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
