Comet, should I chase them up?

Ill keep this as short as I can.

DH bought a satnav 9th Sept 2009

16th July 2010, it switches its self off and wont come back on (fully charged)

17th July, we take it to the local store, with receipt and box, the manager said they usually have to send it for repair but as they still stock this item she would be happy to replace it, great we thought, she then says she has to ring somewhere (sorry forgot where she said) to get a code to do the exchange, she tries ringing but "there is a fault on the line and calls cant be taken at this time, please ring back later", so she asks us to go back in a few hours and she will try again.

A few hours later we go back and its the same story, she asks us to go back the next day.

18th July, we go back, different manager, explain it all again, the previous manager had written the phone number down to take back with us, the manager said he would try it again, still the same problem as the previous day, he took the item details, faults, serial number and our contact details down and said he would try again in the morning and if he couldn't get through he would get in touch with repairs and see about getting it repaired instead, then get in touch with me to let us know what to do next.

Do you think I should ring them and chase it up? as DH needs this satnav for his job.

Personlly i would. Sometimes they can get busy. If they know you're likely to keep calling, always being polite of course, then it may jog their memory.

Of course there are lines of work where you cant rush it, although people think they can :S
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Thanks for that, I rung them, the first manager answered the phone and remembered me and chased it all up for me, Garmin said they wouldn't replace or repair unless it was updated, so I updated it and it completely broke then, wouldn't even switch on, rung them back and got a replacement straight away with a new 12 month guarantee.

    Very happy DH now!
