Is the other £320 your existing arrears maybe?

I asked my girl when she came home from work if we had any other arrears before March an she said no the account was up to date, if there was any arrears it certainly wasnt £320 worth!

So you are now confirming that there are some previous arrears?
Why don't you just set out the details as per your bill of what is arrrears and what is ongoing, and read your meter?

In 4 days you have used £10.72 or £2.68/day. If I assume that is an average use for you that equates to £978.20 per year or £81.51/month. As you have only been paying £45/mth you have been under paying by £36.51/mth plus the months you have missed.

4 missed months at £81.51 usage plus 5 months only paying £45 when using £81 is your £500.

Remember they only check your DD amount once per year.

Also looking at the bit of the bill you have posted (I assume there is more) you are using 50% more at the day rate compared to the night rate. For a E7 tariff to be worthwhile you should be using about 60% at night and 40% during the day. Therefore if you dont use the elec storage heaters and rarely use the immersion you would be better off on a 24/7 tariff.

I presume that was a recent account, I would think that usage over the winter months would be much higher, with heating on.

    Hi Blaz

From the unit rates that you have posted, you are not on our cheapest tariff. If you agree to a monthly Direct Debit and even to manage your account online, you will be offered better rates.

If you look at the first invoice issued to you from ScottishPower and the meter readings that were used to start your account, subtract these readings from what is currently showing on your meter and then apply the unit rates for day and night rates. This will highlight to you what you have used since joining ScottishPower provided the start meter readings are accurate.

If you contact us with your current meter readings, we will update these readings and confirm to you what we hold as your annual consumption in kWhs. We will then tell you how much this equates to per year (and per month) and how much extra you will need to pay to clear the outstanding balance.

See the link below for options on contacting us or send me your details and I'll investigate your account for you and provide you with the answers you are looking for.
