Creditor wants a bank statement & other creditor statements do I have to comply???

My OH and I recently sent out letters to all our creditors saying we could only make token payments. We enclosed a budget of our total income and outgoings as well.
Santander has replied saying that they want us to complete the same information on their form and supply copies of our recent bank statements and statements from other creditors/debtors too.
Is this "normal" procedure and do we have to give them this sort of information?

Its normal pratice and the more you go along with their requests for open and honest informationm the more likely they are to comply with your request.0

Why don't you want to give them the information? They won't steal your identity I promise!
Unless you intend to keep something from them so you've got some spare money?

Tell them to get lost. They can request it all they want they cannot force you to supply anything other than a SOA.Barclaycard 3800

Legally you do not HAVE to supply this information to a creditor, only a court has that power. However it depends on how "co-operative" you want the creditor to be.
Personally I would never send a creditor a copy of my bank accounts, but that is out of preference not as a rule.TOTAL AT START £13606.90 27/03/2018
TOTAL CURRENT £13445.90 29/03/20180 -
You are not obliged to supply them with any of that information.
Some creditors ask for it sometimes, but not all. And those that do, don't for everyone.
In many cases I think it just another psychological tactic they use to put pressure on you, rather than there being any real need.
In the end just provide whatever you feel comfortable with, and no more.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Of course it is their business if you are in debt to them and now would like them to accept only token payments,"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
