Late train (aren't they always)

Friday night I got the train from Tiverton Parkway to London Paddington. It was meant to arrive at 18.16 but didn't arrive until 19 minutes later. This then had a knock on effect to our whole journey so we ended up being half an hour late (not much to some people but it's annoying for me and OH)
We paid to go first class as a treat but may aswell have travelled standard. The service of the people working was shocking and they were rude. When it came to needing the toilet, none of the first class loo's were working so I had to walk down the train, almost 4 carraiges to find a toilet. Not great at 35 weeks pregnant.
Do I have any chance of claiming back the price for our tickets for the journey to paddington? The journey back from paddington was faultless. Charming service people and the driver was bang on time. He was even 10 mins early arriving into 1 station.

I got delayed by an hour on a Virgin Train, booked through thetrainline.com. They could only offer a £10 voucher though.0

Check the train operator's website for their delay repay details, but I doubt you'll get anywhere.
I commute with National Express East Anglia. They refund half your fare if you're delayed by 30 mins or more, and the full fare if it's 60 mins or more.0 -
it'w worth applying. send your tickets (take a photoopy first) and a covering letter with each of the points you made, try to keep them factual. you should get compensation for a delay of 30 mins or more so long as the delay was within the control of the rail industry - ie if the delay was due to the weather, vandalism, trespassers etc it will not be applicable. you may also get a further gesture of goodwill for the toilets being out of order. good luck0

I think i'll just write a letter. I guess it can't hurt. I think the thing that !!!!es me off most is the fact I had to walk down all those carraiges while rather large. We travelled First Great Western. What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0

The delay on FGW has to be over an hour for compensation

but as has been said still worth writing a letter regarding the toilets to see what they offer.
Next time I should allow a little more slack in your travel arrangements so that a twenty minute delay is less of an issue. You don't want to raise your BP at thirty five weeks!0 -
Half an hour delay and having to use the same toilet as common folk. How distressing for you.0

i work for FGW and for 19 mins delay then you will defo get nothing off them,as for the toilet situation it is just one of them things, you should try travelling cattle class on the west region dmu's lucky to have a toilet on whole train.0
