cost of dry lining/insulating internal external walls?

Would anyone who has insulated the inside of their walls be prepared to give me an idea of the price they paid for all the materials and of course a very rough idea of how much area you covered (i.e. an average sized living room and small dining room). I'd be very grateful as i will be putting this suggestion to my husband later!
