Hi im in need of some advice
im currently with HSBC and have a basic current account with them. I have been thinking for a while about changing my bank but am not sure who to go with. I would like a bank with a good rep, and that provides a good service ( unlikely i know).
I tend to go over my overdraft every few months or so, an dont have the greatest credit history.
Any suggestions??

Depends on what you want from the bank to a certain extent. If having a branch nearby is important to you then wonder up and down your local High St. My thoughts on this are that while you hear reports about what banks are like across their entire business, the reality is that some local branches will be brilliantly run, and others not so much.
If phone / digital is important then First Direct have a pretty good rep, but I am not sure how good they are for Basic accounts. RBS / NW have a committment to UK-only call centres, and obviously have a branch network as well.
If you are in London Metro Bank are opening soon, they are a completely new bank, that are promising amazing service, but all things are relative...

I moved from Natwest to The Co-operative recently and really can't complain. It's been really simple to switch over and couldn't recommend them highly enough!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170
