Are Fermacell boards worth the money?

I am about to start building my new house. The first part of the project is to build the garage which will act as a workshop while the rest of the house is built. The house will be built using ICF (insulated concrete formwork) which is the polystyrene blocks with the concrete down the middle and I am unsure how best to finish the garage walls on the inside.
The ceiling will be plasterboarded and skimmed to provide the firebreak to the room above. My understanding is that I have to cover the polystyrene walls with something to provide fire protection. Inside the house it will just be plasterboard and skim but plasterboard isn’t really robust enough for a garage.
Has anybody used Fermacell boards? They sound like they would be ideal but at about £10 per square metre they aren’t cheap.
Has anybody got any ideas on how to provide a cheap, strong, fireproof wall covering?

top stuff !!!!! it may sound expensive , but here are the facts .. and how it saves money
You dont even need a plasterer !! and Fun to use !! (easier than wallpapering )
basically fit the board , use a product called jointstick that joins the 2 boards together or use the filler , apply a joint tape...
heres the clever bit ,,,, get a spatula , then apply a fine surface ready mixed treatment and scrape off in a easy fast application WOW - Smooth !!.. you can paint or hang wallpaper within 1 hr !!! unlike plaster that takes up to 3 - 4 days to dry beofre you can paint etc :T
its very soundproof , moisture resistant , fireproof and very very strong
we did a partition wall in a day as a diy project - was finished and painted on a weekend , We got our Fermacell materials from Huws Gray builders merchants in bolton ,
when you think you save on the buying wet plaster powders ,insulation , labour prices and drying time ..it was a great saving and little mess
