Online bill payment hell HSBC wont cancel pending payment

I recently tried to pay a very.co.uk bill online for £68 i got to the verified by visa bit put in my password and confirmed the payment verys site came up internal server error payment not taken so i tried again thinking it might be a glitch the same thing happened again so i thought i would just leave it and pay it over the phone. I checked my account balance and it shows available account balance £136 less than what it should be so i called them they said the payments i made are pending and they cant cancel them so i called very.co.uk who said sorry there computer has no record of it and wont be trying to take any payment now or in the future because there system has no record of it so i called HSBC again and said look they have told me they wont be taking the payments i still have to pay my bill which is now due and your witholding my money when there is no way very.co.uk can claim it. After putting me on hold several times the guy said sorry nothing we can do about it so i have lost £136 which is held permanently in limbo as HSBC are holding it waiting for very.co.uk to claim it and they cant get the money because there stupid computer decides to crash and not make a note of the payment.
Is there anything i can do ?

yeah, wait 3-5 working days for the authorisation to fall off.0

The payment isn't permanently in limbo. The authorisation will lapse in a few days and the money become available for your use again. In future why not arrange a transfer from you bank's own website?0

I work for HSBC & I can tell you the 2 answers above are indeed correct.0
