I have what NatWest used to call (may still do for all I know) a Credit Zone overdraft facility on my current account - where there is no charge for using it, just any interest to pay. The idea is that it would be cleared when my next salary payment goes in.
I've only had to use it once in something like the last 15-20 years when a BACS problem meant salary payments were delayed (and the company reimbursed the interest charge because it was their fault) and don't anticipate having to use it again, I always budget without taking it into account - however it's reassuring to know I have it available "just in case".
