Thule roofbars

I currently have a 1999 t reg ford focus which has thule roofbars on.

We're looking at upgrading to a 2008 focus titanium - does anyone know if the roofbars on the existing car will be able to be used on the new car?

Probably not. You should be able to recycle the bars but need a different footpack and fitting kit:

No they wont.
Not sure if its deliberate policy by Ford but never known one manufacturer to make so many variations to a roof.

THe best example is the Focus estate mark 2 which comes with I think 3 different roof fitting option in the space of one year.

As previous poster says you should be ok with the cross bars - just the footback and fitting kit.

Would steer clear of the Ford own brand bars - they are a different width to the thule standard ones and could never get my thule bike racks to fit them.

The thule website is pretty good for ensuring you get the right bits - just tap in your car details.
