Hi guys,
I'm really stumped. We have the new xbox and I'm trying to connect it wirelessly but I'm having such problems.

The router is connected to my pc wired and my Wii wireless.

So I search on the xbox and it sees the router when I try to connect. It says the router has no connection to the internet. Well it has because I'm using the computer to type this out through that connection.

I have connected the xbox box wired and it is on the net now through the same router.

I have looked at the router and it is wireless enabled. I have put in the correct WEP key.

I have searched the net and I can't seem to figure it out. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

thats a good router and should have no problems.

All I can suggest is make sure you are entering the WEP key correctly.

The key is character and case sensitve, make sure you have no spaces where they shouldn't be.

Been a while since I connected a 360 using wireless, but I'm pretty sure the 360 expects to find WPA security in place at the very least.

If you are using WEP as security, I'd change that to WPA2-PSK straight away as WEP can be broken by a primary school child in under a minute.
Of course you will have to change the security key in your Wii if that is the case, but no big deal for the knowledge that your connection won't be piggybacked in any reasonable time frame.
Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.

It's odd because I know i'm puting it in right. Its been checked and double checked.
When I go into Configure Network to connect the router it spots my router is sees my router name and other details but where is says wireless mode the setting is not connected.

Yes I changed it over and you just make your own code as long as they match its ok? I put the same code in both and still the same problem.

I even took the security off and nothing.

I would start by (temporarily) disabling all wireless security (e.g. passwords & mac filtering) and see if it connects then. If it does, then re-enable security features one by one. If it fails at some point during the process, you'll then know where to start in trying to fix it.

Edit: Your post above was timed just right to make my post redundant. :)

I've not used wireless on my 360, but I assume everything is set to automatic? If so, have you tried manually configuring the connection, i.e. assign a static IP to the 360, etc?
