Good luck but I think you'll probably have more luck at Tescos because their tills aren't programmed to alert staff once you have exceeded the 10 per cent limit.
Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

Heres the official line I have just been told at Asda, that from today all tills have been set to alert a supervisor if you use more than 5 coupons or the total comes to more than £5, I tried to use the olay 1 and a couple of other very low values ones, but it is a new system from today, so sorry guys it is now £5 at a time !!

Just for info I contacted Waitrose Head Office today with regard to using these vouchers, this was part of their reply:

Before accepting a coupon the cashier must check that:
    it is in date
it contains a notice to the retailer explaining how
    redemption is to be made
the coupon is for a general offer and not for one
    restricted to specific retailers
if several coupons and/or voucher/s are required for one
    offer they are all present
Cashiers may accept any quantity of coupons provided the
coupons are valid however most branches have taken the decision
to only accept 6 coupons per customer due to some mis-abuse .

Basically they cannot accept these vouchers because they are specific to Superdrug. If a cashier accepts them they may be reprimanded because the store cannot claim the money back, therefore they will be in debit on the overall profit.
As mentioned in my previous reply I used these vouchers last week and asked permission first. I was told no problem. The next time I used one the manager pointed out the Superdrug bit and it was refused. This is why I have clarified the point with head office. Hopefully to save any other users embarassment. Although it seems that the oppurtunity to purchase the cream @ Asda for £5.99 and use a single coupon is too good to miss! I still awaiting a reply from Asda to see if they accept store specific vouchers. I have not mentioned Superdrug to them, merely a generic enquiry.
I have noticed that sellers on ebay are even selling on these vouchers! I am all for earning money but not at others peoples exspense (be they retailers or not)or cost. Lets hope the seller is not a MSE member because it is my understanding this site is aimed at saving money, not making money by providing information and ideas to encourage individuals to sell items that are not even acceptable. It is surprising the amount of OLAY products for sale on ebay too!!

I used 4 of the Olay coupons yesterday at Waitrose and had no problems. I would feel terrible is someone got in trouble for accepting them. I find it strange that some MSE'ers were given permission to use the coupons by Waitrose managers with the knowledge that they stated Superdrug in the customer description section (as stated in other posts), so I have been under the assumption that these could be redeemed by Waitrose as well... Perhaps Olay doesn't mind where the coupons are redeemed as long as they sell more products? Admittedly, I have only purchased 1 Olay product myself, and it was free with the coupon.

Wish we had a Waitrose insider on the list that could give us the latest scoop. Any out there?
    I :heart2: Waitrose
  • Is this on self scan? There never used to be limits.

    Jake
Yes this was on self scan..it was fine a couple of weeks ago, put quite a few through no problems. Now all of a sudden all whisles and bells go off if you put more than one through!
You can if you think you can!

Having accepted 2 last week, my local Waitrose refused to accept them today. The SA was fully clued up on them being Superdrug so I guess that's going to be pretty much national.

More success in Boots though - got 2 of the facial washes at £4.99 each for free! :T
    Quidco ~ £3,718 | Greasypalm ~ £354 | Freefivers ~ £45 | Pigsback ~ £260 shopping vouchers + 15 CDs
    Total cashback / freebies / money-saving: 2006 ~ £3,961 | 2007 ~ 3,610 | 2008 ~ £4,159 | 2009 ~ £1,449
