Sorry if this is the wrong place!
I've just got myself a quick one off job for £1,800 and i was wondering how would I properly go about notifying inland revenue about this. I don't want to take a risk, as it'll be going directly into my bank.
Thanks!

This would be a one-off earning outside of my current employment.0

you just need to write to your local office declaring the one off job0

This is a good question because I may be in a similar boat soon, I normally pay tax via PAYE and don't currently do self assessment, if we write to the tax office to declare it, will they do some sort of tax code adjustment or enrole us in self assessment, which would probably be more work for me than actually doing the task I may be paid for?0
