Dulux Paint Pod Compact - can i use any emulsion?

I have managed to get hold of two of Dulux PaintPod compacts along with two of their official pods of white paint for free.
My question; after I finished the white paint in the pods, can I clean the pods out (along with dulux machine) and pour cheaper emulsion into the pods and then reuse them. The Dulux pods are pretty expensive and they have a limited colour choice so I'm wondering if what I'm suggesting is possible.
On their instruction Dulux claim that they use a "special formulation" and that I should not use other paint but looking at the paint it just looks like they have watered down their regular paint!
Has anyone tried this?

Anything?0 -
If its anything like the regular paint pod It shouldn't be a problem. If it does bork it all you'll need to replace is the pump, which gives out after 8-10 coats any way, costs about £10 if I remember rightly.0

I have heard mixed feedback:
- some claim its possible but you will have to dilute the regular paint a little with water so that it can be easily pumped through the tube.
- some claim that you dont need to dilute at all and just pour the paint into empty pod and away you go.
I have never tried either its juts feedback I have read on various forums.
Hope this helps :money:0 -

Have you attempted it?
Im also contemplating buying one but have doubts due to the price but if you can use "any paint" then I might reconsider.
If you need to dilute, how much water against paint?0 -
I haven't but C00lbeans senior has, Just off the phone to him now as I'm considering it myself.
He says hes done it several times, each time pouring it into the pod neat.
He did need to replace the pump after 3 uses like this though, so perhaps diluting it down would be a good idea, not sure what quantities to use though0
