Lovely tall dahlia plant snapped near base

This lovely plant grew about 5ft tall in a large pot.It had lots of pompom dahlias. I did stake it but the wind last week snapped it off near it's base. The tuber is sitting half in/on top of the soil with a few straggly leaves and bits of stem showing. What should I do with it now? Is it best to leave it as it is until later in the year?
There will be lots of roots underneath as it was a terrific plant (from Wilkinsons).

Just leave it and give it TLC. You may "just" but unlikely get more flowers
I think it is not buried deep enough TBH, and will certainly not survive winter outside like thatWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
I intended to keep it in the potting shed over the winter and will be buying another one or two as it has been so good. I take you point about not planting it deep enough. You are right about that. Thank you.0
