Comments like "Euuuugh, this is disgusting" or "why would anyone think we could sell a rusty kettle with a hole in it" can be unfortunate if the donor is still around.
When I've been taking my Dad's old clothes in, I've always checked that they are OK to dispose of rags, if any of them are found to be rags, because I haven't had time to examine them closely. Some of his stuff was brand new, probably the wrong size or he decided he didn't like it after all, but some of it is - 'well-loved' would probably be the polite description!
DH's charity has just opened a shop, I must find out what the policy is there! Not that I have time to volunteer, but would be interested to see how they are managing it.Signature removed for peace of mind0
