Think I'll trip over and claim huge wodges of compo.

No no good for me, don't get any means tested stuff. What an absolute rip off that is. Claim compensation from the taxpayers, get more money than most of them could ever dream of and still said taxpayers have to pay all the living expenses.

Surely whoever you are suing would have insurance & isn't the purpose of insurance to cover these kind of things.

I don't begrudge people claiming for injuries caused by negligent companies, surely it's exactly the same as claiming off your car/home insurance.

What does annoy me the fact that someone can break into your house & sue you if they injure themselves whilst doing it.

Who do you think pays the insurance premiums? For the NHS or LAs. Think it might be the taxpayer.

Then the NHS/LA's should be a bit more careful.

I've seen a few old people trip over uneven pathing slabs & injure themselves.

At their ages it doesn't take much to break an arm or leg.

Surely they should be able to walk around without having to constantly check whether the council have bothered repairing the path.

I think you will find that unless the LAs know there is a problem with the pavement then they are not responsible if someone trips. Common sense would dictate that they cannot somehow know by osmosis about every single trip hazard in the hundreds of miles of pavement in each borough.

Well I can only comment on my town & alot of our pavement are uneven as the council are constantly digging them up for some reason or another.

The same can be said for the state of the town's roads, potholes everywhere that they put a little bit of tarmac on & a couple of weeks later the hole is there again.
