Coming into some money

Looks like we will be inheriting some money soon (should be nearly £3K but for various reasons the actual sum will be under £1k) and was wondering what people would do with it.
Becuase of its source I don't want to throw it at the debt mountain even though I know that that would be the sensible course of action....I want to do is either save it or be able to look at something tangible and say that was what the money was spent on.....was thinking of windows which really do need replacing.
What do people think of putting the money in premium bonds until we have enough for the windows? Or is my train of thought completely off track????

Weve got 100 in premium bonds, its not a bad idea, especially if you think you cant be trusted not to use the money for something else.
IN saying that thou you might want to consider somehere with a more reliable return even the bog standard cahoot saver is 4.89 i think, you might as well get something for your money:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I don't think most people would blame you for not wanting to throw all of your windfall at your debts, especially if you are managing them reasonably well. Perhaps if one of your premium bonds came up you could obliterate the mountain.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
