    I told everyone in the group in #13 that Win7, unlike the preceding Windows Operating Systems does misinterpret the W-hr degradation threshold, and gave the figures for those who wish to critique my opinion . Win7 does interrogate the Li-ion BIOS ( EEPROM ), and make judgements which underestimate by 30-40% (-) the battery condition.

    In Consumer Rights terms, my guess would be that its one of those many areas that the Microsoft lawyers will insist that the engineering side of the Corporation are never allowed to release a fix for, its too close to 2014 when Win8 is released .. .. .. releasing a fix will provide a wide pathway for litigation experts to further drive down Microsoft's reputation and profits.

    Interesting article, looks like its run from Windows on a bog standard *.exe file.

    LG have also previously released a possible fix, although only for some of their models, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981200/en-gb
