AS title says, I want to download some movies for my iphone to take on holiday. Itunes is a bit pricey, are there any cheaper but legal websites?

You can buy DVDs (legally) from a shop and convert to the right format.0

The OP stipulated legal, and different people have different opinions on these things. Perhaps they're the type of person who won't break a law, no matter how stupid the law is. er, isnt converting for personal use considered 'fair use'

look at how small the screen is
you wont be wanting to watch for 90+ mins on that screen
