Will I be wasting their time? :(

I had a UTI which has progressed to a kidney infection.. It started off with one kidney but now the doctor thinks that it's spread to my other kidney too. I'm on my third lot of antibiotics. The first two lots didn't help and the doctor said that if I don't feel better by Monday, to go to A&E as I might have to have antibiotics via IV.
I really don't know if I should go to A&E though. I feel like I would be wasting people's time when other people have a greater need of being seen than me. I feel like I should just grin and bear it.
Would I be wasting their time if I went? =/
I'm not looking for medical advice, just opinions. =/

IMO its always better to be safe than sorry!
Your doctor has advised you to go so he must feel that their is just cause for treatment from A&E. Look after yourself and get A&E's opinion!!Make £10 a day challenge (August) - £175/£3100 -
Go to the hospital if you don't see an improvement - I used to be prone to these and I've been warned that left untreated they can do permanent damage.0

If your doc says go to A&E, then you must go. Otherwise you'll have wasted his time by asking for his help and ignoring his advice.

about 5 years ago I had a uti which turned into a kidney infection, which I was being treated for via my gp, it got worse over a weekend I went to see an emergency doctor and was admitted to hospital where I stayed for 2 weeks, a week of which I was on IV antibiotics. I would say if you feel poorly or it gets worse go and get it treated x*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150

Follow your doctor's advice, they know best.
I wouldn't give a monkey's if I was wasting anyone's time or not. Your kidneys are kind of important and I would rather be safe than sorry.Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
Gawd, I had a kidney infection and it really is a painful condition. If you dont feel better do as the doctor says, go to A and E - you dont want permanent kidney damage which will mean a LOT more time spent in hospitals.0

Go to A&E, the infection will only get worse if it's not treated appropriately, the longer it persists, the more complications and difficulty will be involved in getting rid of it.0

Thanks everyone.
I guess I was worried that the time the A&E staff would take looking after me, someone who needs help more than I could have died. =/2019 Wins

Don't worry about that. A&E staff are very good at prioritizing patients so, if your condition is non-urgent, you may find yourself sitting in A&E for hours while they deal with more serious cases. You don't get dealt with in the order you arrive at A&E; more urgent cases are seen first.0
