mortgage issues

Dont know if anyone can help with this one, my father has the same name as me except i have a middle name and he doesn't. He purchased a property with my mother with a mortgage and have found out the Deeds are under my name. Our names are the same except as I said i have a middle name and he doesn't! does this mean the property is in effect mine?

My equifax credit report has also been effected and says i have a property with my mother.

the property was purchased in 1999

HELLLLPPPP!!!

I quite like the idea that I can claim the property of everyone with the same name as me. If nothing else it would make a great "get rich quick" scam email...."How to get rich just by sharing the name of someone rich!"

Damn! For the first time ever I regret having a rare name :rotfl:

I know there's no-one else in the country with the same name as me - there must be someone in another part of the world. Do you think I'd be able to claim their property as mine  :D

I would have thought that for the mortgage they would have realised that you did not have the same birth date as your dad?

Deeds in scotland can be put in one name but the mortgage can be in 2 names(i was asked by a solicitor if i wanted just my name on a deed without my wife). Unsure if you can put a someone elses name on a deed.
