Help! How Do I Change To Part-Time Course?

I am due to start a full-time HND in September.
However, after much thought I feel I can't afford to give up my job and live on the student grant/loan. So, I have decided to compromise and do the same subject but on a part-time HNC. This would allow me to keep my job, have extra time for assignments and also get a high-level qualification.
But, I'm afraid to contact the tutor as I don't want them to think that I'm messing them around. The tutor is not the most welcoming guy. What can I do to solve this problem?
Also, where do I stand with the funding? I've received the funding notification for the full time course. How do I change this over to part-time HE?
Thank you very much.

Finance wise you'll need to fill out a change in circumstances form so they can reassess you - part-time students get funded differently.
As for changing to part time with your college you are going to have to speak to your tutor, unless your college has an admissions department you can speak to instead.
Does the college do your course as a PT course?
Will your current job allow you to work around your college timetable?0 -
Thanks a lot.
The FT course is not available on a PT basis. It takes 4 days per week, plus private study, so working around the timetable is not an option.
I'm going to have to talk to the tutor and explain the best way possible.0
