2 Day auctions....is this allowed?

Hey,
You know how eBay only allow auctions for 1, 3, 5, 7 and 10 days.
Is it possible to say put one for 3 days, but state in the listing that you will close the auction after 2 days and give the item to the highest bidder at that time?
Cheers, FG

I dont think you'd be able to do that as the item would like look it was not sold so you wouldnt be liable for selling fees and ebay wouldnt like that very much if they found out! Why dont you just list it with a bin price ?
That just my opinion though

yes you can because you can choose to end the auction earlyt and sell it to the highest bidder.
The biggest problem is that a lot of people would not read the lsiting as they may wait ntil nearer the time to bid but then not.Nice to save.0 -

I would get charged FVF if I stated I want to close the auction to sell to the highest bidder at the time.
I would sell at a BIN price, but from previous research I find these items go for much more when sold as a low starting price auction.
Thanks for you help0 -

I have thought of ways to get around that problem.
Just wanted to know if it is allowed on eBay, because there is no option for even day auctions (for some reason
) except for 10 days.
Thanks0 -

Why dont you just put it up for a 1 or 3 day auction? Is there a reason that you would want it to only last 2 days?Weight Loss - 102lb0

I was wondering that too. Why would you want to close the auction and potentially loose out on higher bids towards the end?0

If people search by ending time, they'll think yours is ending a day later than it really is, and thus may not bother to look at the description until it is too lateMurphy's No More Pies Club #209

It's hard to explain the problem, but the only way to overcome it is to have a 2 day auction. A 1 day auction will not work for this particular problem.
Thanks for your replies and suggestions. As there doesn't seem to be anything wrong eBay wise with doing it, I will be trying 2 day auctions soon.
