Can't add someone to my ignore list?
Indie_Kid
I've just tried to add someone to my ignore list. When I type the first few letters, their name appears in a list. I've clicked on this and saved the changes. Yet, I still their posts. Why?
They're not a board guide; (which I belive you can't ignore?) just a regular poster.

Serious question ...
Why do people feel the need to put others on an ignore list?
If you want to ignore an MSE member's posts - then just don't read them.
ETA: Thinking it over further, is it to stop someone clogging up your PM area?0 -
If you use firefox a better way is to use this plugin
Its 10x batter than ignore option on here
I cant get it to work now but others report it still works

It's to prevent reading the posts of trolls and general trouble makers. By putting them on ignore, it's the easiest way to not read what they post
(and, unremarkably, those users soon disappear when they find they are being ignored.)
Nothing to do with clogging up my PM area - mine is clear as a bell
(I wonder how many trolls will try to change that now I've posted it - I bet they'll try
) "Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
