Returning shoes.

I made an impulse buy of a pair of sandals in Geox last Tuesday. They were most insistent that I take the box but as I intended to do more shopping I didn't want to carry it about. On Tuesday night I realised that the sandals would not suit me as the straps would hurt, so I took them back on Wednesday. The assistant refused to change them without the box even though she reconised me! She told me to come back on Friday when the manager was there. So I went back yesterday and the manager was rude and aggressive because I didn't have the box and refused to change them. I might add that they examined the sandals minutely looking for an excuse not to change them but as I hadn't worn them the only reason they could give me for not changing them was the absence of the box. I'm sorry for going on about this but I was treated so badly there I was in a bit of a state. I'm not a young thing but a more senior lady. Is there any thing I can do?

No. You have no rights to return them.0

As Judas says you don't have any rights to return but maybe a call to customer services might equate to some sympathy or at least a goodwill voucher?0

So... they tried their best to get you to take the relevant box, which you'd need to make a return (which as far as I know is standard with shoes.. and most things in fact), you refused, but it's their fault that you can't return them as you don't have the box...
They shouldn't have been rude obviously, but you chose to not take the box, it's no different to people who don't take the receipt. If they did take them back without the box they may well be classed as unsellable and therefore it may be taken out of the assistant's wages.0 -
Normal practice Im afraid.
It good of them to take them back with the box, they are under no obligation to take them back at all just because you changed your mind. If there had been a fault with them then that would be different.
So you are stuck with them.
Im surprised, as a mature lady, that you didnt know this.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Did you not try them on before buying ? Stappy things I always try on as they can hurt beyond belief if they are the wrong size or in my case my feet are just odd shaped and too wide.
The only shoe thing I can buy without trying is Uggs and Clarks as I know the fit and shape but in that case I would not expect to return them if I got it wrong as it would be my fault and no one elses.
I bought a pair of high heeled cloggs ( with platform soles) from red or dead thinking they would be fine but they scare me half to death but again that is my fault and not theirs so I have to learn to get over my fear of heights or sell them on.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.
