Builders house sales not appearing on Land Registry database

A builder who lives locally to me has bought and sold several houses over the past 5 years but none of these appear on the Land Registry database (Righmove.co.uk/houseproces.co.uk etc).
Is he doing something illegal to avoid stamp duty maybe or is there a genuine reason for this?
Any ideas?

Perhaps he is incorporating the properties under the umbrella of a company, that way the purchase may have been of the company and not the property itself (and thus no record of it). The land registry is curtailed by very very bad legislation, it should in an ideal world be put ouot of it's misery and reformed when better legislation is in place as it's costing us 200-400 million per year for absolutley sod all.0 -
How about phoning up the builder and asking them? If you are worried about the builder recognising you, if you posted the name of the builder here I'm sure someone would ring. If you gave a specific address/house for use in the enquiry, that would help.0

Neither my purchase or sale 4 years ago is shown on rightmove/newhouse prices and I definately paid stamp duty and am registered at land registry-I dont think their system is completely foolproof0
