Our survey says...

Not alot! We had a full survey done and now I am wondering whether we should have bothered! It told us that the flat roofs were coming to the end of their natural useful life (which I guessed it would say), the staircase baluastrades had gaps that were too wide and the circuit board in the utility might need replacing.

Still at least I know there is nothing wrong with the place.

Is this about what you would expect from a survey? The house we are buying is a 60's build with a ground floor extension :)

surely you should be relieved to know that there is nothing else wrong with the property ? surveyors dont invent problems ........
  • If there was even the tiniest problem it would have been picked up by surveyor. You should be thrilled. What price do you put on peace of mind?

Would you have preferred to be given a list of hugely expensive faults? We get loads of posts from people complaining their survey has found problems and the poster doesn't know what to do.

    Seems the surveyors can't win!

No sorry I didn't mean I am annoyed about the survey. I am indeed glad it showed up no major faults. I just hope they have done a proper job, but to be honest the property did look well kept and the people are lovely. I just didn't want to trust my instincts and not bother with a survey.

the house is only 40/50 years old - that is no age at all... so i would not have expected too many problems
