What has caused our water pressure rise?

Options
Hi all,

I wonder if you can help. Earlier in the week we had a water pressure rise in the house, this ended up causing an unknown slightly corroded pipe to burst under our shower, causing water to pour through our kitchen ceiling, the tiles under the bath needed to be smashed to get at it quickly.

Now there seems to be a lot of damp around the toilet. The water seems to be running down the cracks of the floor tiles. Now it could be my son mis-aiming and we will ban it from being used today and see if it dries out.

It all seems to be related to this surge in water pressure. I have spoken to neighbours and they don't appear to be experiencing any higher pressure. I have to say it is lovely having this surge of power in the water, but not if it is going to affect the pipes in the house.

We haven't turned the main stop !!!! to the house, nothing else seems to have changed. I have checked with Thames Water and no works have been carried out locally.

thanks
