Dent removal tips

Hi folks

Been very windy here recently and whilst driving home on Thursday evening a branch has fallen on my roof leaving a dent about the size of a £2 coin. I have taken the head lining out and tried to push the dent out but it is still visable. Anyone have any tips on how to get it out before I give up and get it sorted by a smart repair company?

leave it ...if you make a mess the smart repair will be much harder /impossible

its not something you can diy and get it nice

Don't. Dents on big panels like roofs are very difficult to get out without the proper gear. The reason you can't push it out is because the metal has stretched. Pay someone to do the job because if you try to DIY it then unless you work in a bodyshop you're likely to make matters worse.

i watched the smart repair guy take a dent out of my door with removing the door card,he done it in 15 minutes and evena 2 years later you would never know there was a dent there.

what he did was have a peice of metal bent so it would pass through the door card and he would gently rub it against the dented area until it disappeared.
im sure there is a bit more skill involved than just rubbing it,but its worth a try with a smooth peice of metal.

yeah they make it look stupidly easy ..but its not

make one wrong move and stretch it or crack the paint and the experts wont be able to fix it

They will but the experts will then be a bodyshop complete with the appropriate hike in cost.

paintless dent guy should do it for £40 ...hardly the end of the world

No you right not the end of the world but i always like to give thing a go first just incase i can fix the issue myself. I have a bloke from a local company coming out on Tuesday to fix it for me after my attempt failed lol
