hi, there i wonder if anyone could help me, i orderd some small side tables from m&s on the 6th july for £49.50 i check there site today and they are now at £29.00. I emailed m&s to say i appreciate that things go futher down but a £20 drop in two weeks is a bit too much to stomach especially as they ae still box in our hall because the room they are going in isnt finished. I asked if they possibly refund the difference and they have replied no! But i can return the original ones and buy new ones at the new price..... how silly is that... I guess thats what i'll have to do though, seems a really strange way to go about it really.
I think M&S have free returns aswell.

How silly are you to even email and ask for a refund, Just for example You buy a playstation 3 from argos in december come january it will go down in price, you not gonna go back to an argos shop and say give me the difference back.

Now your going to waste everyones times returning it,getting refunds just to buy the same item.

There is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't return it for a refund and buy them again. It's no skin off their nose.

And this is coming from someone that bought a car and then didnt want to go through with the purchase because you heard rumours about a garage..... please leave me alone....

i dont think its silly to ask for a refund at all... like i say i if its a resonable time that has elapsed and it goes down again they thats tough luck but they were only bought 11 days ago, plus i cant be that silly as M&S just said buy them again and return the old ones. I dont see it wasting anyones time especially when this site is all about saving money. Plus the difference you failed to have noticed is that the original tables haven't actually been used at all yet whereas in the example you quoted you would have used your playstation, so yes you are very silly for trying to return the playstation 3 after a month. Honestly I dont need another reply from you.

(can you still block people that talk tripe on this site) :p

i was only asking for some help on this problem, just seem M&S have a stange way about going about it, especially has they have a 35 day return policy. Surely its easier to isssue a refund now rather than me order more, send the others back and then get a refund.
If thats what i have to do then so be it, its for £50.00 difference... that would take me a long time to earn that!!;)

I would have been silly to buy the car, I am hardly going to ignore advice from people with experience from a stupid little garage that sits on a main road with about 5 cars in its show room. But this has absolutely nothing to do with this and its sad you looked through my posts just to find something to get back at me with.

It does seem illogical, doesn't it? They will have the expense of the return carriage and then, depending on their policy, they may have to class your first set as returns or used or something and not be able to put them back into ordinary stock. Will serve them right if you use a free delivery code for the second set!

Hope they don't go "out-of-stock" after you've returned the original ones! Maybe you should buy the reduced ones before you return the originals.

TBH maddening though this is, this is just life. It happens all the time with holidays and flights for example. I take the view that if I'm pleased enough with the item at the original price to buy it, then I have to take the price reduction on the chin. Of course I'll try the return and rebuy thing, but wouldn't expect the company to set a precedent and change it's policies for me in these circumstances. Often as not I've benefitted from being in the right place at the right time to buy something reduced, so you win some you lose some.

I do feel sometimes we try to push the goodwill of companies like M&S who offer good customer service and T & C too far.

If the item had gone up in price by £20, would you have been contacting M&S offering to pay them an extra £20 to keep it?

    Thought not....

:rotfl:What a silly person. Get real. Prices change you were happy with the original price so you paid it. You cant expect a refund off an item everytime it goes down in price. That's just stupid. I live on Planet Earth ehy don't you come and join the rest of us.
