had a look. will you let us know if it's any good0 -
You may want to consider one of the Harmony programmeable remotes.
You can programme it to "Watch TV" and it will sitch on the tv and switch on a freeview/satellite receiver and tune it to a particular channel and all at one press off a button.
You can programme it to carry out any sequence of commands just by the press of one button.
You could programme it for your mum, for example "Watch TV" "Tune to teletext" "Switch evrything off" etc etc and then leave it with her.
Probably the basic Harmony 515 would do, you can find reviews on Amazon.0 -

Thanks but I've already ordered the other one.
To be honest that is far too complicated for her, she would forget what button to use with having so many:(
She is better with a few clear & simple buttons.0 -
We bought a remote like this for my inlaws who have similar problems - and, surprisingly to me, they haven't been able to get used to it at all! They can't cope with scrolling through the channels (mind you, they've only ever had the basic 4). They prefer to be able to press buttons labelled 1,2,3 or 4 rather than searching.0
