Can someone offer me some advice please.
I am planning to paint all my wooden upstairs floors for a traditional look. So far I have undercoated and top coated an area of about three
square metres with Macpherson's floor paint in a very dark blue. It says semi gloss on the tin, however it is far too glossy for my liking and I am wondering what I should do to matt it down.
I am wondering if I could overcoat it with a matt clear polyurethane floor varnish but worry that it might not adhere properly. Has anyone any suggestions?

Not sure, but surely it would just age over time, and become duller as you walk on it with tiny scratches etc? Actually saying that, you may well end up with tracks of dull and shiny depending where you walk. Floor painting sounds a real mission tbh.0

That's what I'm beginning to think!! About a mission I mean. However having set my hand to the plough I am determined to continue. I suppose i could have stained and then varnished. Perhaps I will try that in another room, assuming I can get a dark blue stain and not just 'wwod' coloured.
Thanks for your reply.0 -
