By the way, with regards to The Office, I personally find it incredibly cliquey, and sometimes very condescending and sarcastic towards people who use this particular thread.

I agree, not a fan of The Office for the same reasons. MSUK is better but not particularly busy.

I read it as being pretty light hearted

I didn't. I think most of her snide comments are written so as to appear "light hearted" but the hate is there, believe me. Not sure what I've ever done, and I've asked, but been ignored, so don't know what more I can do to make things "right" so I've stopped trying.

It is indeed pretty "cliquey" but I do also think they're welcoming to newcomers too.

The comments about this thread make me chuckle as 99% of it is soooo true!

Hmmm...MSUK isn't exactly quiet though. I do find it much better than The Office and generally better than on here.

Where this thread (or rather it's users) beat both the office and MSUK hands down is with the job alerts, much much quicker.

No not quiet but I think it seems more so as they have sooo many sub forums.. it doesn't seem nearly as busy as here. Having just one thread on here does make it seem busy!

Agree with you about the alerts on here, always on here before the other forums.

    Oh my god.

Been running around fields in the peak district today as a Team Building event for work. Had fun but have cried my eyes out when i see i have missed my two fav clothes shops in the whole wide world on grassroots (PM and NL). I saw one on my phone but it would let me get it. Rung my mummy to explain but she missed it.

And seems i have missed loads on RE as well

So tired. Although i am proud i climed a telegraph pole and jumpted off it to a trapise :D
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!

I am sure all the newcomers will be pleased to know you agree with the pompous, superior attitude shared by some of the regulars on The Office. I think it has improved a lot on here recently, not so many repeated questions, and most people on the whole do seem to have taken the time to read the opening few posts first.

I don't post a great deal on here, and prob not at all on MSUK, but I agree the ALERTS are sooo helpful.

Anyway, wish me luck, should hopefully be signing papers to move house tomorrow

Use the "view new posts" button in the top right, or "today's active threads" at the bottom right. I prefer the former.

"Pompous" some of the views may be, but some of them you just can't disagree with - e.g the posts on there (I think it was office, but could've been MSUK, not sure and cba to check atm) around the time someone on here asked for a photo of a sandwich as they'd forgotten to take it. Even worse, other posters helped!

Cut to a few months later, and now RE require the photo to also contain the receipt AND a piece of paper with the assignment number written on it. The person who'd forgotten to take the photo should've just accepted it as a lesson learned and done it again.

I do think the requirement of photographing the sandwich is taking things a little far in terms of practicality, but the requirement was clearly stated in the assignment notes, so the shopper knew what was needed.

Good luck with the move - I hope it goes well, I know how stressful it is!

A bit extreme don't you think :D how many other people do you get to with 'your opinion' & make no apologies to them;)

I don't think its in the least bit friendly over there & a lot drift back & forward & when anything on here appears to kick off as it does sometimes, then complete strangers are wading in:mad::mad::mad: & firing everyone up & regular posters back off as a result.

This is a friendly thread & sometimes newbies (which we all were @ some point ) again want to be spoonfed without even looking @ the hard work TG has done on the 1st thread.:T:T
The info on the start of the thread never got there by MAGIC as some folks appear to think, it was sheer hard work from dedicated MS'ERS who are prepared to help people get into MS'ing.
Anyway thats my view as a regular poster & lurker on this thread.:)
