Recently joined the mystery shopper forum and discovered the hugh list of companies. Going to start joining a few but i'm not a big shopper and forsee joining loads when jobs are nowhere near.

    umm, how do i decide!

Good place to look is their poll. If you see a company with lots of positive votes that you're not registered with then sign up. Obviously avoid the ones with lots of negative votes.

Accepted a food place on RE last night, was allocated it
and it just disappeared from my active assignment about 10 minutes ago :S

"we no longer need this visit to be completed"
WELL THEN WHY DID YOU RELEASE IT
  • Hi hoping someone can help....I've just done a MS for RE (only my second one) and I was so busy noting everything in my head that I completely forgot to ask for a receipt and when I got home realised that I wasn't given one. I guess I wont get my purchase reimbursed but do you know if I'll still get the fee or will the whole visit be deemed void? I'm so cross with myself  Is there anything at all that I can do?
    Thanks for any help.

Knowing RE they will probably void the whole visit! Why don't you say that the till had run out of paper - might work??

you could write and tell them what happened. I find them OK if you do something daft.
I had my receipt blow out of my hand and down the road once and they paid me, as long as you don't make a habit of it.
    Good Luck
  • I dunno - I don't want to get the staff into trouble. I know where I work that if something like that was recorded on a MS I'd get in trouble for having let the till run out of paper and having none available - I'd be expected to give a written receipt if that happened.

I would email and explain that you are new and you were so busy thinking about names and descriptions that you totally forgot to get a receipt and you didn't want to go back in and ask for one as this might have raised suspicion. Play on your newness and be very apologetic. Got to be honest though RE are pretty tough and very picky so I don't think you'll get paid.

I lost my receipt once. They refused to pay me. Annoyingly I'd already completed the report. I'd be tempted to contact them and ask prior to filling the report in!
  • Thanks, just e-mailed them to explain and ask the best course of action.

Hi, I have a cinema visit to do tonight and it says it pays purchases (not including the ticket) up to £15. It only says to buy popcorn. Now I know popcorn is expensive in cinemas but there is no way it will cost £15 so can I buy other stuff and claim it back?
