I am contemplating buying a new TV and understand the latest technology is LED. We have always had Panasonic TV's but I notice whereas most manufacturers refer to their sets as LED Panasonic say theirs is LCD LED. Is there a difference?

Have a read / think, then come back and refine some specific questions, there are a lot of knowledgeable people here who will help.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I found this web page to be the most helpful and easiest to understand.

Deciding which TV to buy is determined by :
- what signal [ definition ] you put in
- what definition you want out
- what you can afford
- what your eyes like the look of
So for example if you say :
- I'm on Sky / Virgin and watch a lot of sport you will get one type of answer
- I'm on a standard definition Freeview / Freesat box and don't watch sport you will get a different type of answer
- I'm on a terrestrial ariel and want a TV with / without a HD / SD tuner you will get yet one more different type of answer
- ditto if you watch Blue Ray discs etc
Two things, first if you put these two three letter phrases ( LCD LED ) into the forum search at the top of the page you will find shedloads of debate on just this subject, this will help your understanding.
And two if I've misunderstood you and you just want to know what the specifics of Panasonic's marketing phrase ' fwor ' has linked you to a URL that sys the answer is to your question is no.
LCD and LED are the same thing with different backlighting.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Unless it's an OLED LED TV?
Hiya fwor :beer::beer:
I was trying to avoid getting over complicated till we know what the O/P has / wants. BTW have you seen this later OLED / AMOLED stuff. You already know my opinion on OLED TV .. .. .. until it's 42" + and a similar price per brand it, like the 3D set will never be anything but a minority choice.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
