Hi all,
I'm usually quite tardy with my PC protection and currently employ the use of Avira, online armor and malwarebytes anti-malware to keep me safe online etc.
However, in the last few days - I've been getting a malware slipping through the net and uploading itself in my temp and system32 folder masquerading as a Java application.
It happens everytime I try to use the www.face-pic.com site and is becoming incredibly annoying! Everytime it pops up I get this fake small logo of the Sunsystems Java application load on my screen and a fake java icon appear next to the icon tray in the bottom right hand side next to the clock in my taskbar.
I end up having to go via my Local settings folder and deleting an unknown 0.8164374.exe (something like that) in the temp sub folder. Luckily online armor blocks this .exe from accessing the internet.
I ran malwarebytes and hijackthis - but it doesn't seemed to have picked it up or any associated files.
Any ideas on what I can do to get rid of this pest - I am already avoiding using face-pic for now incase of further attacks!
Thanks alot in advance. :money:

See the pinned thread at the top of the forum on malware etc, also see this thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2597149
I seriously recommend you run Microsoft's Malware Remover July 2010 quick scan (see if that helps, if not then full scan). Their MW is free, direct from the Microsoft website.
Other than that, you can get a lite copy of PC Tools Spyware Doctor free with Google Pack - SD is not bad. Make sure your firewall is up to date and on at all times too.Escaped from Barnet to freedom in the South-East!0 -
OP. Can I suggest you edit the link just in case the site is suspect. Its too easy to go there unawares.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
