Combi Boiler Repair Dilema

Hello All,
I'll keep this as short as possible. Essentaially I'm after opinions/advice.
My boiler has died and at this point I'm not sure why but I don't think its a minor thing. I called up Vaillant the manfr and they gave these 2 fixed price options.
1. £215 - inc VAT, Lab, Parts (not heat exchager or expansion thingy guess these are expensive). This would have a 1yr warrenty for the parts and work carried out.
2. 12 mths of £25 (so £300) - inc VAT, Lab, Parts (not heat exchager or expansion thingy). However, the warrenty is 1yr for anything not just the job that was fixed the first time.
I do have third option of waiting for my dad who it a corgi plumber. unfortunatley he is on holiday and will not be back for another 8 days.
What do you think on these options? Is there anything else I could explore?
cheers
