Problems leaving Esporta

Hi,
I am hoping someone can help me...
I joined Esporta last November and being aware of their cancellation policy and 3 months notice period, I negotiated a commitment period of 6 months with a 1 months notice to cancel. I have a letter from Esporta confirming this and signed by one of their Sales Managers.
After 7 months of being a member I decided to cancel, I wrote a letter informing of my decision to leave - giving 7 weeks notice. I paid my last months fee and then cancelled my direct debit. During this period, I heard nothing from the club so I sent two emails and tried calling to speak to the membership team but no luck.
In June I received two letters from Esporta for 'unsuccessful membership payment'. I called the club and spoke to a member of the sales team who confirmed they had received my emails, apologised for not acknowledging them and confirmed I did not owe the club any money. I asked them to email me this confirmation which they did and I believed the matter closed.
Until today. I have received a letter from ARC Credit Management accusing me of owing £506 (!) and threatening me with court proceedings if I do not pay within 10 days. Can anyone help? I am aware there have been various threads on this forum relating to Esporta but I believe this is a bit different as I have confirmation from Esporta of myself having left the club and not owing them any money. I have kept a record of all phone calls and I have copies of all correspondence.
Thanks so much!

Hi,
If you go on the Esporta web site, follow the link to your club then you will see the name of the General Manager of the club. Call them and explain. I am sure once they have copy of the letter you have, they will sort it for you.0 -
