One-off payment to egg card

I've just sent egg a secure message asking if they can confirm my online one-off payment as it is not yet showing on my balance statement despite the funds havng left my bank.

I only did it 24 hrs ago, anyone know how long it takes to show up?

Thanks
Shanni

Depends how you paid it. If it was by bill payment sent from your bank then it will take about 4 working days, so you've got a while to wait yet, particularly with the weekend coming up.

Of course it doesn't have to take 4 days, it's a scandal that it does. Computing technology has moved on and it could easily be changed to be next day at the very least. However there is no incentive for the banks to spend the money changing the system as they make a tidy sum by failing to pay interest while it is moving.
  • When I do this, my egg account is credited BEFORE my bank account is debited. I have a debit card registered with Egg in order to make one off payments - Is this how you did it? or did you do the payment direct from your internet bank site to Egg (which is like a BACS payment and can take up to 3 working days)

    Yes, that's what happens.

Yes, I do. It seems quicker i.e. Mon - Wed

No, I don't, it always seems quicker doing your transactions from the Egg end.

Sorry, Reaper - I guess you've gone to bed now!

Yes I registered my debit card with egg too. It is showing today in the first page as nil balance, and on the 'recent transaction page' as being paid, but not on the statement page. Also, my little bit of cashback seems to have disappeared.

Oh I've just read the info re cashback...seems I'll have to wait until September...feel a song coming on
