Tesco Direct- viewing before purchasing?!

I've seen 2 sofas on the Tesco Direct website which I would like to check out to know if the sizes / look & feel are all okay before purchasing... after contacting numerous tesco stores and speaking to a tesco call ctr I am being messed about! One store point blank saying "no we can't do that" the call ctr saying to visit a store in bracknell north, which prior to that we have contacted to find out that they don't sell furniture! etc etc
so, wondered if anyone knew of a tesco store in the south that has sofa's on view for the public or, where we would stand if we did purchase the sofas unseen...... distant selling act etc etc?
help will be very appreciated! :o

    tesco returns policy?

If any of our products fall below the high standards you expect please return them within 28 days and we will happily refund or exchange the item. Please have your invoice with you to do this.

If you change your mind within 28 days, we are happy to refund or exchange the product provided it is returned, as sold, with all the original packaging, tags, labels and accessories. Please have your invoice with you to do this.

The Bracknell Homeplus sells furniture, although they do not have a huge amount out on display, but there's a warehouse attached, I assume that's the one they are talking about this is the no. 01344 654400.

If you do buy and find it's not what you want they do honour their returns policy..eventually. We bought a whole load of bedroom furniture via them. The quality was dire and after hours trying to unsuccessfully construct a wardrobe i gave up and asked them to take it back. Despite also having constructed a bedside cabinet i took it all to pieces (with inevitable damage in the process) and they took it back. However they were quite slow taking it back (it took a couple of weeks) and i had to give them an ultimatum that if they didn't collect it i'd leave it outside on the driveway as i had no room to be their warehouse! So if i were you I would not buy any furniture from Tesco Direct as its too much hassle!

Similarly Argos honoured return of a sofabed that had minor damage and wasn't what we were expecting. Though they were far quicker and collected in a matter of days and was much less problematic.

Hi, my sil bought a sofa from Tesco with exactly the same worries as you and hoping it would be ok when it arrived. It came and was actually a realy nice sofa, she gave it away i think when they moved they bought all new and so far i think it is still going!

Argos i have heard mixed reviews, we looked at one as remember homebase is the same as Argos and they do (near to where we are anyway) have a showroom where you can sit on them. The one we liked was a corner sofa and although i really liked it and would have prob bought dh didn't and it would have been a lot of money wasted. We got one from Furniture village in the end as had a good old sit and test of it..oh and they give away free lovely coffee and cookies which helped with dh's decision!!

Good luck it is a big investment so you need to be sure..personally i wouldn't buy one without seeing it unless i knew someone with one.

I wouldn't bother and would shop elsewhere.

We bought two leather sofa's from Tesco, and after two months of normal use, the leather on the seat cushions started to shred and holes appeared.

Initially Tesco claimed we were misusing the sofa, and sent an independant technician out to inspect it. He discovered the seat covers were made of split leather which is poor quality leather and not durable enough for seats. They normally use it on the backs of sofas where it gets no wear. To demonstrate how crap the leather was, he poked it hard with his finger and his finger went straight through!

He advised getting a refund as apart from the leather, the sofa was poorly made. He told me what I should look for in a frame and leather, so I went to https://www.thomaslloyd.co.uk The sofa's cost more than Tesco, but they are lot better made and are durable.
Here I go again on my own....

Save a bit more money and buy furniture from a furniture shop, not a supermarket.
