Help with car insurance

This is bad news and exactly what Quentin warned you about.
You now have to declare that you have had insurance cancelled (forever).
This will make it hard to get insurance (you might not be able to do it on-line) and possibly make it more expensive or stop you getting competitive quotes.
This is a very bad turn of events.
If you can't manage the simple setting up of a direct debit, then I think you need to stop doing your insurance DIY and get a professional broker involved to take care of things for you.
I know you paid the arrears but were you not planning on paying for the policy on an on-going basis? Forgetting to pay is fairly major and now you have problems (forever).
Don't say you weren't warned about this.
You could ring them up and try to plead with them to re-instate it.
That's what I'd do.0
