Rejected by Virgin BUT......

Let us introduce to Vanquis(HED)

Thanks very much tosspots !!!

Not good enough for you but i can get one of those at an extortionate APR and no perks like an interest free period.

I already have 2 cards ZERO balance loads of good credit history with an excellent payment record. Nothing owing anywhere now but up to November 2009 i had a total of 11k debts which is obviously still on record.

Whats going on with these clowns ? Are they on a nice little ' earner ' from pass-ons or something ?

I've just been accepted by Virgin Credit Card, 0% on purchases and balance transfers for 12 months. Only to find out they've gave me a credit limit of just £1600. I was really surprised as i have a superb credit rating, the agent said he'd ask to the finance team to see if they will increase it to £3000, which i've got with my previous two card (halifax and tesco). Anyway i rang them today and it seems virgin declined to increase my credit limit. Really bemused as too why.

Anyway i was going to cancel my Virgin card even though i have yet to recieve my virgin card through the post but i thought i may as well keep it now, as i only have 1 tesco credit card.
I read having 2 cards is better for your credit rating. So seen as i went through all the hassle of the application and virgin have done a credit search on me, also even if i was the have cancelled that virgin card card it would have showed up that i opened an account on my credit report and then closed it, so would that have looked bad? I prolly won't use it much, still am i doing the right thing on keeping it card/account open? Now i've been accepted or should i still go ahead and close it?

No. Keep it. It is a good lower rate card and they will increase the limit quite frequently if you maintain the account well.

The days of huge initial credit limits even for excellent credit history applications are gone. Companies want relationships before offering huge wads.
