I have got 2 questions in one thread to ask. Firstly:
Are there any banks offering good special offers and 0% interest on overdraft rates for University students?
Also can these rates apply for a UK resident and citizen studying in an EU country?
Thanks

I can answer the first, the majority of the big banks offer a 0% overdraft. Halifax offers the largest one at £3,000.
UK residents can certainly apply, not sure on EU nationals.0 -
I don't know if you understood properly.
I am English with a UK passport and UK address but going to be studying in Denmark at University for 3 years.
That is why i am asking if i can still be offered this account? No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
Yes, you can still get it.
However, if you're wanting a UK account to use in Denmark, you're better off with a Nationwide FlexAccount (as there is no charge for using your card in Denmark), and, if you want a credit card, a Halifax Clarity Card or a Nationwide card.0 -
I am needing a Student account not an everyday usual Debit or Credit card. I have both of those at Nationwide anyway at the moment!
I am wanting an account offering interest free overdraft just in case i need to borrow here and there without having to pay interestNo Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
Apply for a Student account with your chosen bank and use one of the accounts to transfer money while you are in Denmark. If you use your Student Account abroad, you may get charged for transactions.
The only problem I can foresee is which University you will input when applying for the account. If you are on a year abroad, just put in your UK institution. I'm not sure what you would do otherwise.0 -
I wouldn't recommend Natwest. They do offer the 0% interest overdraft but I've just spent my Erasmus semester in the south of France and was charged each time I needed to take money out of the account.
My friend has a Nationwide account and didn't have to pay any fees for taking money out.. which I would have transferred to had I not left it too late!0 -

Those fees are written in the literature. Nationwide has also started charging similar fees, see here.0
