    I would buy to let if I didn't have to inform the tax man, rent out rooms instead of the whole property to have less problems and to genuinely scam the system ;o))

    That would make it worthwhile doing the detailed maths and risk assessments.

    Also some of these landlords are doing people a favour. If the tenants cannot rent from the council or a housing association, where are they suppost to rent from?

    The landlord could be seen as an answer to their prayers.

    The majority of these tenants don't know how lucky they are. We provide quality accomodation for a reasonable sum.

    I don't want to portray all tenants as ungrateful though. They do give us a lovely house in return..... although rather ironically it is those who realise this who seem most disgruntled?!
    Doesn't seem to make sense?
