Raised Beds

One of the great things about gardening is that if it goes wrong you can have another go. Obviously long time gardeners will get it right most often but newbies will occasionally hit on something great that's not been thought of before. Who'd heard of growing potatoes in bags 20 years ago? They aren't really great for maincrop but for getting someone into growing their own they are ideal.

It's the same with raised beds - not strictly necessary but in a domestic back garden they keep a veg plot acceptably neat. Use any materials you find acceptable/easily obtainable/free - if it works that's great, if it doesn't then try something else.

OP - As with anything else on MSE set yourself a budget and stick to it but get what pleases you - and good luck
